আমার সাক্ষাতে ( বা ব্যতিরেকে ) তোমার অন্য ঈশ্বর বা দেবতা না থাকুক।

আমাকে ছাড়া তোমরা আর কোনও দেবতাকে উপাসনা করবে না।

তোমরা অবশ্যই অন্য কোন মূর্তি গড়বে না যেগুলো আকাশের, ভূমির অথবা জলের নীচের কোন প্রাণীর মত দেখতে।

You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নাম অনর্থক লইও না, কেননা যে কেহ তাঁহার নাম অনর্থক লয়, সদাপ্রভু তাহাকে নির্দ্দোষ করিবেন না।

তোমরা তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের নাম ভুল ভাবে ব্যবহার করবে না। যদি কেউ তা করে তাহলে সে দোষী এবং প্রভু তাকে নির্দোষ সাব্যস্ত করবেন না।

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lordwill not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

তোমার পিতাকে ও মাতাকে সমাদর করিও, যেন তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে যে দেশ দিবেন, সেই দেশে তোমার দীর্ঘ পরমায়ু হয়।

তুমি অবশ্যই তোমার পিতামাতাকে সম্মান করবে, তাহলে তোমরা তোমাদের দেশে দীর্ঘ জীবনযাপন করবে। যেটা প্রভু, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর তোমাদের দিচ্ছেন।

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

নরহত্যা করিও না।

কাউকে হত্যা কোরো না।

তোমার প্রতিবাসীর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা সাক্ষ্য দিও না।

অন্যদের সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা বোলো না।

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

তোমার প্রতিবাসীর গৃহে লোভ করিও না; প্রতিবাসীর স্ত্রীতে, কিম্বা তাহার দাসে কি দাসীতে, কিম্বা তাহার গোরুতে কি গর্দ্দভে, প্রতিবাসীর কোন বস্তুতেই লোভ করিও না।

তোমাদের প্রতিবেশীর ঘরবাড়ীর প্রতি লোভ কোরো না। তার স্ত্রীকে ভোগ করতে চেও না। এবং তার দাস-দাসী, গবাদি পশু অথবা গাধাদের আত্মসাত্‌ করতে চেও না। অন্যদের কোন কিছুর প্রতি লোভ কোরো না।

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

তোমরা কোন বিধবাকে কিম্বা পিতৃহীনকে দুঃখ দিও না। 

কোন বিধবা বা অনাথ শিশুর কখনও কোনও ক্ষতি করো না।

You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child.

Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

তোমরা আপনাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করিও; তাহাতে তিনি তোমার অন্নজলে আশীর্ব্বাদ করিবেন, এবং আমি তোমার মধ্য হইতে রোগ দূর করিব।

তোমরা সর্বদা তোমাদের প্রভুর সেবা অবশ্যই করবে। আমি তোমাদের রুটি ও জলকে আশীর্বাদ করব। আমি তোমাদের কাছ থেকে সমস্ত রোগ সরিয়ে নেব।

You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.

And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
